戴维于戈亚斯州伊通比亚拉出生[2]，并在八岁时于格雷米奥开始足球生涯，并在三年后经前巴西国脚马科斯·阿松桑引荐后转投桑托斯[3][4][5]。
2021年8月9日，戴维与桑托斯签下了首张职业合约，为期三年[6]。合约据报设有金额达1亿巴西雷亚尔的解约金[7]。他在该赛季亦开始为俱乐部的U-20梯队上场[6]。在接下来的2022赛季，戴维以16个进球成为巴西圣保罗州U-17联赛（葡萄牙语：Campeonato Paulista de Futebol Sub-17）的最佳射手[3]，并在各项比赛为U-20梯队射入共17个进球[3]。
